Single Mom Travel Blog
Chances are you are on the hunt for a single mom travel blog if you have stumbled upon this post. I am here to tell you that you have come to the right place! I know there are a lot of single mom blogs out there but this one is unique because it includes lifestyle design, travel, and living abroad inspiration for single moms instead of just the typical stuff talked about on other single moms blogs.
Hi! My name is Amoya Shante. I am a single mom of three and I travel. I travel a lot actually. For the past year and a half my daughters and I have been traveling the world fulltime. It has been one crazy life-changing adventure!
Pretty much everything we own fits into these three backpacks.
We went to Puerto Rico for a month, road-tripped across the US for two months, went to Canada for 3 months, and then Mexico for 3 months. From there we went back to the states before heading off to Ireland, Italy, and then found ourselves in Albania where we fell in love and decided to stay for five months.
Albania was an unbelievable experience that I will cherish forever but in the end, we chose to return back to the very first country we fell in love with, Mexico, so we could set up a home base. Fulltime travel is rewarding but also exhausting.
Life back in Mexico has been absolutely amazing. This lifestyle took a huge mindset shift. I had to break past a lot of limiting beliefs. It helped that we got out of the US so my mind could be opened to the amazing world we live in. It is not as scary as it is made out to be. In fact, it is pretty damn amazing.
Traveling and living abroad as a single mom has taught me so much more than I could have ever learned sitting back in my condo in Austin, TX.
This single mom travel blog is about a transformational journey from a life of depression to a life of happiness.
When I joined the ranks of single mom blogs, I didn’t know how this type of blog would be needed. I have met many traveling and living abroad single moms but I have come across very few that actually blog about it
Single Mom Travel
Single mom travel is a growing trend. Seriously! I am bumping into mommas all around the world. This lifestyle is more than possible. Imagine waking up in foreign lands to the call to prayer or birds outside your window. Imagine having your senses stimulated at all times because you are surrounded by new and exciting smells, customs, colors, and scenery!
Travel is vital for growth and shifts in mindset. Travel is no longer for just the rich. We live in a time where we can hop on a plane and be in another country in a few short hours. We are absolutely limitless!
How Do You Afford To Travel?
I discuss How I Afford To Travel Full-Time and even talk about the blogging course I took that helped me take my blog from a hobby to a business I am passionate about.
There are tons of ways to make money online. A majority of the single moms I meet and talk to teach English online for all the various companies out there. Some don’t require a degree. Some do.
Starting your own business is a great way to create a location independent income. I discovered that I love helping single moms move abroad and travel the world so I created a business coaching women to do just that. In terms of money, you have to look past your current bills. If you live in the United States, you probably have a rent or mortgage payment, plus utilities, big phone bill, car payment, car insurance, and health insurance just to name a few. This could all add up to a couple thousand easily.
Imagine all of those things being reduced drastically or eliminated completely.
Let me explain what I am talking about and what a lot of people do not realize when they think about moving abroad or traveling full-time as a single mom. It is cheaper to travel fulltime and live abroad than it is to live in the United States. At least for me, it was.
My Current Bills In Mexico
Rent $400
Utilities $25
Phone $20
Transportation $75 to 100
My Bills When I lived In Austin, TX
Mortgage $1800
Utilities $300
Phone $85
Car plus Insurance $700
Do you see the difference?
Worldschooling And Unschooling Education
Often, I get asked about my kids’ schooling. Actually, the whole traveling thing started after I decided to homeschool my girls. One of my daughters was getting bullied. It was heartbreaking.
I was growing more and more frustrated with the homework load for my girls. After they were done with there 7 hour school day, I’d want to spend time doing fun things as a family but often they would have way too much homework for us to be able to find the time to do anything.
It was beyond frustrating.
Finally, we had enough and I decided to homeschool them which actually lead to me discovering unschooling and worldschooling which is our current mode of education. Check out this video I did on unschooling by clicking here.

Pulling my kids out of public school was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! My family is so much closer and happier. Both my girls are pursuing their passions instead of having a standardized education. Imagine how different the world would be if everyone was able to pursue their passions from a young age.
Worldschooling has literally brought my kids’ education to life. We travel the world living like locals, building deep friendships with locals, being immersed in different cultures and languages, and truly living life to the fullest.
I fully stand behind worldschooling, which is an education that is all about learning from the world around you, because I have seen how much my kids have transformed since embarking on our worldschooling journey nearly two years ago.
